Beautiful day for flying!

Just about to take off! I’m heading to Melbourne for a couple of days for work, hopefully the weather is better when I get back!

The struggle is real

On my iPhone, it’s so easy to take a photo, edit it quickly in Snapseed, then upload to Instagram, and share it out. It takes but a moment. Doing the same, or similar, to any of the photos shot on my other cameras is such a chore in comparison.

I captured around 2,000 photos and at least 10Gb of video while I was over in Europe recently, add to that a further 3,000 photos and more than 100Gb of video I shot when we holidayed in Fiji in July, and that gives you an idea of the mess that’s sitting in front of me.

Ugh.

At least it’s all backed up.

The Tumblr Experiment

I moved this blog away from Squarespace a little while back, and it was working well enough, looking back I’m not really sure what my motivation was to move it but move it I did.

Fast forward to today, and here I am moving the blog again, this time to WordPress.

Tumblr was an ok enough place to post blogs, particularly images and reblogs, but it just didn’t “feel” like home. I can’t really put it into words what didn’t feel right on Tumblr, I just couldn’t get into a rhythm there, and the distraction of seeing other people’s posts inline kind of bugged me a bit.

Anyway, here we are on WordPress waiting for DNS changes to happen, and let’s see where we go from here.

It’s sad, it’s another problem. We’re trying to fix it and we’re making a little bit of progress but you’ve got to convince a lot of people.

This is a huge problem to solve, but if Apple do in fact solve it then they will make every travellers dream come true.

Next up, Apple Fibre?

You know you’re back in Australia when…

Exhibit A… This wouldn’t even happen in 2nd class on a SBB train.

And exhibit B… Sub 5mb download speeds that cost you more than $150 a month because you have to get WiMax as DSL in the area is sub 2mb down.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to be home and I love where I live, but we are so freakin far behind the times here that it should be a national embarrassment.

Graz to Zurich

Flying alongside the Swiss Alps, from Graz to Zurich. Flight 1 of 3, part of a very long journey back to Australia. #Switzerland #InterSky #Graz #Austria #SwissAlps

Ugh, where’s my signal at?

Why are you busting my balls Austria, I just need to call my bank in Australia and find out why I can’t withdraw any money!
